Community-Based Mental Health First Aid Training

When discussing first aid, we often jump to thinking of emergency treatments for those who are¬†physically injured. In building our competencies of support for the whole person, Mental Health First Aid provides resources and skills to help a person undergoing an emergency in mental health. More information on the training including purpose, practices, and research can be found on the National Council’s for Behavioral Health’s Mental Health First Aid website.

Through generous support from Providence St. Joseph Health and in partnership with the National Council for Behavioral Health, we are able to provide these trainings to communities served by St. Joseph Health at no cost to the participants–a $170 value.

We provide two versions of this training: the traditional Mental Health First Aid training as well as a specialized curriculum for those working with youth, appropriately named Youth Mental Health First Aid.
